High Sensitivity Vehicle Loop Detector with ASB Function for Trucks Trailers and High Chassis Vehicles


The high sensitivity vehicle loop detector is designed for reliable vehicle detection in applications involving trucks, trailers, buses, semi-trailers, and other high chassis vehicles. By working with an inductive loop installed beneath the road surface, the detector identifies changes in loop inductance caused by metal vehicle bodies and provides stable relay signals for connected control equipment. It is suitable for locations where conventional vehicle detection may become less stable because of high ground clearance, uneven chassis structures, or varying vehicle sizes.

A key feature is the Automatic Sensitivity Boost, or ASB, function. Once a vehicle is initially detected, ASB automatically increases detection sensitivity to help maintain continuous vehicle presence recognition. This is particularly useful when long trucks or trailers pass over the induction loop, as the metal distribution underneath these vehicles may vary significantly from the front to the rear. Maintaining stable detection helps reduce the risk of signal loss while the vehicle is still occupying or crossing the loop area.

The detector also provides 16 selectable sensitivity levels, allowing installers to adjust detection performance according to loop dimensions, installation depth, electromagnetic conditions, and target vehicle types. Its wide 15–2000 μH inductance range supports different loop sizes, shapes, and numbers of turns, providing flexibility for various installation environments. Four selectable operating frequencies can be configured when multiple loops are installed nearby, helping reduce electromagnetic crosstalk between adjacent detection zones.

Flexible relay functions support vehicle presence monitoring, entry pulse, and exit pulse applications. Permanent presence mode can continuously maintain the output while a vehicle remains above the loop, making it suitable for applications where trucks may stop or move slowly for extended periods. Adjustable relay release delays also support smoother coordination with barriers, gates, cameras, and other control systems.

    • The dip swich design on the shell makes the setting of loop detector easier and clearer, which is very user-friendly for users. Users can set all the functions first and then install the loop detector.
  • 10. Anti-crosstalk interference.
    • Through the dip Switch, the frequency of the loop detector can be adjusted to prevent crosstalk interference caused by the installation of two loop coils too close.

  • Blinking slowly: Indicates loop is short circuit or the number of twists after the loop is not enough.
  • Blinking fast: Indicates loop is open circuit or too many twists after the loop.



(2)Switch 1 (Trimpot), Sensitivity Selection
  • Sensitivity of the loop can be adjusted by the trimpot labeled “Sensitivity”. User can select 16 different setting by turning the trimpot with 0 being the least sensitive and “F” being the most sensitive.

  • In the application, where two or more loop detectors and sensing loops have been installed, set one detector to high frequency and the other set to low frequency to minimize the effects of cross-talk between the two systems(The sensing loops and detectors should be positioned at least 2m apart).
  • Reset Button:Please note: The LD-100 must be reset every time a setting change is made to the Dip switches.
Detector Position And Installation:
  • Install the detector in a weatherproof housing.
  • The detector should be as close to the sensing loop as possible.
  • The detector should always be installed away from strong magnetic fields.
  • Avoid running high voltage wires near the loop detectors.
  • Do not install the detector on vibrating objects.
  • When the control box is installed within 10 metres of the loop, normal wires can be used to connect the control box to the loop. More than 10 metres requires the use of a 2 core shielded cable. Do not exceed 30 metres distance between control box and loop.
