Designed for parking barrier and vehicle access control applications, this loop detector provides reliable vehicle presence detection and anti-crush protection for safer, more efficient gate operation. Installed with an inductive loop beneath the road surface, the detector identifies changes in loop inductance when a vehicle enters the detection area and sends relay signals to the connected barrier controller. It is suitable for parking entrances, residential communities, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, toll lanes, and other controlled vehicle access points.
A key function is permanent vehicle presence detection. When permanent presence mode is enabled, the detector continuously maintains the presence relay output for as long as the vehicle remains above the induction loop. The signal is released only after the vehicle leaves the detection zone. This function is particularly useful beneath barrier arms, where continuous vehicle detection helps prevent the boom from lowering while a car, truck, or other vehicle is still within the safety area.
The detector supports configurable relay functions for both vehicle triggering and continuous presence monitoring. Depending on system requirements, the relay output can be configured for entry pulse, exit pulse, or presence operation. This allows one detector to work with barrier gates, LPR cameras, ticket dispensers, parking controllers, and other access control equipment. Adjustable relay release delays from 0 to 30 seconds provide additional flexibility for delayed barrier closing, continuous vehicle passage, and coordinated control with connected devices.
With a wide 15–2000 μH loop inductance range and 16 selectable sensitivity levels, the detector can be adapted to different loop sizes, installation depths, vehicle types, and site conditions. Automatic Sensitivity Boost helps maintain stable detection for trucks, trailers, and high-chassis vehicles, while four selectable operating frequencies help reduce interference when multiple loops are installed nearby.
For parking facilities requiring dependable barrier safety control, this parking barrier loop detector combines vehicle triggering, permanent presence monitoring, adjustable sensitivity, and anti-crush protection in one practical solution. It helps improve barrier operation by keeping the gate open while a vehicle remains in the protected area and allowing controlled closing only after the vehicle has safely cleared the induction loop.
(1)Power Led: RED Power LED Indicates “Power ON”
Sensitivity of the loop can be adjusted by the trimpot labeled “Sensitivity”. User can select 16 different setting by turning the trimpot with 0 being the least sensitive and “F” being the most sensitive.
1. DIP 1 & DIP 2 Setting Special Functions
2. DIP 3 & DIP 4 Setting Relay B Output
3. DIP 5 Setting Automatic Reset
4. DIP 6 & DIP 7 & DIP 8 Setting Relay A Delay
5. DIP 9 & DIP 10 Setting Frequency (40 K to 100 KHz). Used to avoid the interference
When the control box is installed within 10 metres of the loop, normal wires can be used to connect the control box to the loop. More than 10 metres requires the use of a 2 core shielded cable. Do not exceed 30 metres distance between control box and loop.
The loops are sealed using a “quick-set” black epoxy compound or hot bitumen mastic to blend with the roadway surface.
